The Power of Daily Devotions.

Part 14 – Wind Up Session

Please take a picture of your small group as you close out.

Welcome to Part 14, the final installment of our small group sessions. The overall theme was “The Power of Daily Devotions” with subtitles as follows:

How to have a fruitful Devotional Session Parts 1 – 5
The Fruit of The Holy Spirit
The Power of The Holy Spirit
More on The Holy Spirit part 1 – 3
“Give Us…Our Daily Bread” part 1 & 2

The goal of meeting Jesus daily is essentially for fellowship just like Adam and Eve had fellowship with the Father in the Garden of Eden every day before the fall. The result will be that Christ is formed in us through our regular fellowship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We will grow in Him and become stronger in our faith. See Galatians 4:19.

We were created for fellowship with the Father right from the beginning when Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden.

And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. Then the Lord God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” 10 So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”

Genesis 3:8-10 NKJV

Scripture Memory (Re-read and Recognize)

Please take a few minutes to re-read the Memory Verses from previous sessions. Which ones are you most familiar with?

“Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.”

Mark 1:35 NKJV

In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 NKJV

He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

1 John 2:6 NKJV

Truly, these times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands all men everywhere to repent

Acts 17:30 NKJV

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”

Luke 11:13 NKJV

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV

“how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”

Acts 10:38 NKJV

for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Romans 14:17 NKJV

And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.

John 6:35 NKJV

He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. he who comes from heaven is above all.

John 3:31 NKJV

Part 14 Summary and Conclusion

Can you recall anything you have been blessed by during this small group season? Here is a scripture verse for you to meditate on and keep in mind through the summer.

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

Colossians 3:1-3 NKJV

Have a great summer and plan to be a Small Group participant, host, or facilitator as God helps you in Jesus’ name.
