Higher Ground: The Work of the Spirit

Read Galatians 3:2-3

Introduction

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead. The Godhead consists of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. He is the executor of God’s will on earth. In the book of Genesis Chapter 1 we are introduced to the Spirit as One hovering over the dark and deep body of water. The next verse reveals that God spoke commanding the appearance of light.

It appears there is a connection between the hovering of the Spirit over the dark massive expanse and God speaking “let there be light.”

The Work of the Spirit

The Holy Spirit lives in every born again Christian and desires to work in us, however not everyone is yielded to Him.

Would you agree that the work of the Spirit is usually always “unseen” at first before a manifestation? Any examples? Please read 2 Corinthians 4:18.

The work of the Spirit cannot be done in the flesh. Galatians 3:3

Discussion the “hovering” Holy Spirit

What do you understand by “the Spirit hovering?” What are the implications? What comes to mind?

Conclusion

It is helpful as Christians to always remember that the Holy Spirit is working right now perhaps even “hovering” over our situations and circumstances whatever they may be. Maybe, this is why the scriptures teach us to watch our words and that we will be judged for every careless word spoken. Please read Matthew 12:36

Being open to the truth of His presence helps us prepare for the “suddenness” of God’s work as well as using our words with utmost care.
